Why waterbased ink?

December 15, 2016

As most people know, the solvent based inks usually contain over 50% solvent. These solvents are used as vehicles in various types of inks, which has become precursors of ground level ozone, a major cause of health problems for people with respiratory ailments.

Hazardous waste regulations restrict disposal options for all wastes mixed with solvents from these inks that are easily ignited. Some of these inks are classified as “listed”wastes if specific solvents are part of the composition.

A solvent based ink has approximately 60%-80% of its weight in solvent such as Ethanol, N-propyl Alcohol, Isopropanol, Heptane and n-Propyl Acetate. These are all VOCs and flammable. Some inks and diluent solvents include Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Methyl IsoButyl Ketone, Toluene, Ethyl Acetate, etc., all of which are listed as (F) wastes.

Waterbased inks provide a better solution to these solvents and a means of eliminating both
pollution and many of the regulatory constraints on the printer.

Ø to achieve prints complying with the most severe restrictions in terms of ecology and
Ø safety for the users.
Ø to achieve prints with different kinds of touch.
Ø Easy printing with simple equipment.
Ø to print on various substrates, that are sensitive to high temperatures.

Once you start to use our waterbased inks, you’ll not only benefit from its great product features, but also benefit from its clean environment for the workers.
