January 5, 2021

Printing on different materials with different inks have created room for new possibilities of design and style that look phenomenal. Printing now is no more just the laser printers and inkjet prints on paper. New possibilities in creating different kinds of prints have emerged.

One such new technique for creating a beautiful and attractive print is textile printing. Today we will have a closer look at textile printing and see how it emerged over time. Textile printing is a widely used printing method which was not developed in just a single day.

There has been a series of advancements and development over time which has made this printing process phenomenal. So, let us have a look at the same and understand the role of textile printing ink:

Traditional Textile Printing:

The initial idea of textile printing was first to make the required print on the cloth which was then further transferred to paper. This method was also called as block printing. The impression of the print was created on the textile material with the help of a block.

One of the major disadvantages of the block printing process is that it takes a lot of time for making the required print. This is because for each colour a separate block needs to be made. This makes this process both cumbersome and time-taking.

One has to be careful with the block printing process. This is because a little mistake could lead to ruining of the complete design. The better the quality of fabric printing ink, the better will be the quality of the block made.

Roller Printing:

This printing technique became popular in 19th century creating beautiful vibrant prints with high-quality and durability. This printing technique as the name suggests involves the use f a cylinder or a roller which rolls over the cloth for making the required print.

Even today whenever there is a requirement to print a large number of textiles all-together this printing is technique is a wonderful option. Although when it comes to modern screen printing techniques roller printing has a lesser preference.

Screen Printing:

One of the most used printing techniques today is screen printing. It might be for scratch cards using scratch-off inks of fabric and textile printing. This printing technique possesses a wide range of applications.

Different frames are made for making screen prints. These frames are made according to the design and colour that needs to be used. Detailed and high-quality prints can be created with the help of screen printing.

It is highly recommended to use only the perfect quality textile printing ink for this purpose. The printing quality does not only depend on the type of cloth but also the type of ink used. Hence, one should be careful with the same.

Textile printing has brought a change for good in the world of printing. We hope that you would have found the above-mentioned information useful.
